Band

The Mount Vernon Band is a proud tradition in our community, bringing together student musicians who are dedicated to excellence, teamwork, and school spirit. Our band program provides students with meaningful musical experiences while representing Mount Vernon, Ohio with pride both on and off the field.

The Mount Vernon Bands include concert, marching, and jazz bands that perform at football games, community events, parades, and special performances throughout the year. Students develop strong musicianship, discipline, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships through rehearsals, performances, and travel opportunities.

Being part of the Mount Vernon Bands involves commitment, collaboration, and a passion for music. Students rehearse regularly during the school day, with additional after-school practices and performances during marching season and concert season. The experience teaches responsibility, time management, and teamwork — skills that benefit students far beyond high school.
