Howard Earns Statehouse Art Honor

Howard Earns Statehouse Art Honor

Congratulations to Kennedy Howard, whose charcoal drawing was selected for the 2026–2028 Ohio House of Representatives High School Student Art Exhibition. This prestigious exhibit features only 99 student artworks—one from each Ohio House district—and is installed in the hallway connecting the Riffe Center to the Ohio Statehouse, where it will be viewed by thousands of visitors.

Our high school was invited to participate in the exhibition through a unique partnership between the Ohio House of Representatives, the Ohio Arts Council, and the Ohio Art Education Association. Kennedy’s artwork was chosen to represent our school in recognition of her outstanding artistic accomplishments, including earning regional honors twice at the Governor’s Art Exhibition.

Kennedy’s artwork will be displayed at the Statehouse for two years and will be open to the public later this year. In September, she will also receive a $100 award in recognition of her artistic achievement.
